Can anyone recall an instance of diplomatic of cross cultural "faux pas?"?

I'm looking for a story about a US resident, diplomat or politician traveling abroad and committing what some might call a cultural "faux pas" or mistake, or similarly, a foreign resident traveling to the US and doing something similar. Any thoughts?
