Should I dye my hair brown for traveling in South America?

it is not a bad idea, of course they will still know you are foreign, but when you are blonde, they see you from blocks away and know that you are foreign. I have not traveled in SA, but in Central A, and rural southern Mex (and a number of other places in the world) and my blonde hair always made me stand out and I think caused some of the problems I had. (For example trucks ping me and my friend on the road and then pulling over and waiting for us to catch up and then harring us). The blonde hair is a red flag. But I didn't notice as much of an issue in bigger cities or anywhere touristy. Also, I was once encircled by curious villagers, all touching my hair. That was weird.
