How can "pride" be a "sin" when God exhibits the most extreme example of it?

I find it hilariously ironic that "pride" is one of Christianity's "seven deadly sins." The God of that mythology allegedly wants everyone to worship Him. He also expects us to regularly sing His praises and "serve" Him first and foremost (not sure why an omnipotent Being would require the services of comparatively feeble humans). If that type of extreme megalomania doesn't qualify as "pride," I don't see how anything else can.
